JASON A.
Jason Ardiles, otherwise known as Jason A., is a multifaceted musician, producer, and singer-songwriter based in Boise, Idaho. With Chilean roots, Northern California history, and a deep emotional presence, Jason A brings a performance style that is both refined and raw — the kind of music that lingers long after the last note.
Growing up in Northern California, Jason became obsessed with the guitar at an early age, devoting countless hours to studying everything from ’90s alternative music to classical guitar and flamenco. He later became a prolific songwriter and released three albums with his band, The Stages of Sleep, a Bay Area favorite known for their dynamic live performances and distinctive Indie Gypsy Rock sound.
His artistic evolution eventually led him into a solo venture, fusing classical guitar fingerpicking, raw and processed vocals, and original compositions that weave together electronic and organic sound elements. As the creative force behind Street Rabbit, Jason continued his sonic exploration, blending Folk, World Music, Electronic influences, and Bizarre Pop undertones. Through looping, drum machines, and diverse textures, Street Rabbit marked a departure from traditional instrumentation and shaped a sound that was both melancholic and powerful.
For a time, Jason stepped away from being the man behind the mic and focused on consulting, collaborating, and producing. Most recently, he has served as producer and session musician for folk virtuoso Dustin Silva, including work on his single “Past Warning.” During this period, Jason continued to deepen his guitar and vocal craft while also experimenting in other artistic media.
Now, Jason is stepping back into the live music scene and returning to the digital musical landscape under his solo moniker, Jason A. His upcoming self-titled EP marks a powerful new chapter, showcasing his classical guitar influence, emotive vocals, cinematic textures, and deeply personal songwriting.
The release follows his single “Ever So,” recorded at the legendary Power Station in Manhattan. The track features world-class drummer Felix Ngindu, a Liverpool-based artist originally from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, known for his dynamic range across African rhythms, jazz, and rock. It was produced by award-winning engineer and multi-instrumentalist Seth Paris, whose credits include The Roots, Sara Bareilles, and U2.
The EP will be released publicly on July 16, with an intimate early release celebration on July 9 at Art Revel Gallery in Boise. Guests at the July 9 show will receive first access to the EP before its public online release, along with a unique First Listener card containing a private download code.
